Volkswagen’s $500 million brand experience center, Autostadt, invites visitors on a journey into the world of mobility. The Zeithaus Museum explores the thrilling history of the automobile. The factory tour offers visitors insight into the art of car construction, while the AutoLab encourages guests to design their own cars using innovative technology tools.
Autostadt is a real treat for kids. In the LearnPark, children study auto safety and can earn their own driver’s licenses and tool around Drive–About Land go–kart track.
There’s something for adults, though, too. Adults can test their driving mettle on a variety of driving courses or learn how to reduce fuel economy. And if you want to pick up a new car, the Premium Pick–up program is unforgettable in itself. In a fully automated procedure, a new Volkswagen is brought down to the guest from one of the two 20–story Car Towers.
In all, the 40–hectare Autostadt is an exciting look into the art of the automobile and a great presentation of the Volkswagen brand. It’s been a wild success for the carmaker, attracting more than two million visitors every year.
In 2000, it was awarded the prestigious THEA award from the Themed Entertainment Association for Outstanding Achievement in the Corporate Land category.

Our Role
With approximately 9 months to go till opening, ProFun was brought in to provide full time pre–opening and operational support to the Autostadt project. We provided the project team with critical operational input, set standard operating procedures, developed the operations organization and management staffing, and determined admission and pricing strategy. We are proud to have assisted the Autostadt project through pre–opening and initial phase of operation after opening on June 1, 2000.
